"I have used palm leaf plates for casual summer entertaining and large gatherings for many years. They are solid, do not leak and attractive. I thought these were a good alternative in the disposable category They are not. They are unattractive, and sort of flimsy feeling. The are compostable but that's all to recommend them. I don't know if they leak. I'm sorry I tried to save money with these."

"While not all of the plates in this set sat perfectly flat on the table (some were warped - likely due to sitting in a hot car), they worked just fine and I got loads of compliments and "where did you find those?" They held up great with some wet summer salads for a retirement party AND they were really pretty. Moreover, I feel great that we didn't waste a bunch of plastic or plastic-coated paper."
"These are very thick plates, but they feel sturdy and they�re definitely not going to fall apart with any liquids from how it feels. If you�re looking for normal sized plates, 10 inches is what you want. However, where I took off a star is for the value. $30 is very expensive for 50 disposable plates considering you could get a disposable set of regular paper plates for cheaper."
"This is a set of round compostable plates. The plates are made of palm leaves, with no plastic or paper fibers. The are 1/16� thick with rounded edges that are about �� deep. Each plate has a slightly different color pattern. The plates come packaged in 2 cellophane wrapped sets of 25. They were made in India. I am really excited about these plates. It�s so great that they are not made of plastic or even paper, but rather leaves which are completely a renewable resource. Plus, they degrade quickly in compost conditions with moisture. And they stand up very well to all sorts of foods, wet or dry, not getting sogging or leaking at all. They are also quite easy to carry, even when full, since they don�t fold or droop. This is a great choice for potlucks or outdoor buffets."
"Bamboos plates are an elegant alternative to paper plates, particularly good for special occasions when you don't want a lot of dishes to wash. These are an okay brand, though deformed a bit more than others. Not the ones I'd buy first, though still nice."
"These plates are one-of-a-kind, truly, because each one is different from the next. Though these plates are durable and hardy, they are styled so that you can leave them out on a dining room table and they act as practical decor. The bamboo style is amazing for outdoor parties especially for the summer and has been a huge hit lately as the sun has started to emerge again. I have gotten so many compliments on these plates�they look so organic and natural but they are smooth and sturdy so as to not splinter or impair the food. The circle shape is wide enough to be made for entrees as well as a cheese platter as pictured, but it can also hold a bowl at the center with plenty of room for chips on the perimeter. The 10 inch size is great for any kind of entertainment or pot luck. They go with any style as well, so if you already have a summer plate set, they will blend in seamlessly. These plates are light and packable which makes them great for picnicking. If you are looking to evolve your next dishware for the new season, start here! I highly recommend this set for a fashionista or for someone who just plain loves food!"
